If you’re traveling by ferry, we recommend that you make your reservation ahead of time to avoid long waits, especially during the busy summer months.

A major upgrade to Highway 4 at Kennedy Hill continues to progress and daily road closures are in effect. We also advise that you check the closure schedule to avoid waiting at the construction site.

Ferry from Vancouver to Nanaimo

Take the Horseshoe Bay ferry from Vancouver to Departure Bay in Nanaimo. The ferry is around 2 hours, one way.

Flight from Vancouver to Tofino

Flights to Tofino are available from Vancouver through Harbour Air or Pacific Coastal Airline.

(Travel time is approximately 4.5 hours)

1. Travel North on the Trans-Canada Highway towards Nanaimo.

2. Take Exit 51 onto Highway 4 West near Parksville.

3. Follow Highway 4 West across the island, passing through Port Alberni. Look out for the signs pointing towards Tofino.

4. Upon reaching the west coast, Highway 4 comes to a “T.” Turn right and follow the signs to Tofino.

5. Turn right onto Jensen’s Bay Road.

6. The Tofino Chalet (956 Jensen’s Bay Road) will be on the left hand side of the road.

7. Kick back and relax!

1. Take the Inland Island Highway (BC-19N) towards Campbell River.

2. Take Exit 60 towards Port Alberni and merge onto Memorial Avenue to get to Pacific Rim Highway.

4. Upon reaching the west coast, Highway 4 comes to a “T.” Turn right and follow the signs to Tofino.

5. Turn right onto Jensen’s Bay Road.

6. The Tofino Chalet (956 Jensen’s Bay Road) will be on the left hand side of the road.

7. Unwind and take in the views.
